‘When The Bough Breaks’ Sterling Silver And Psilomelane Dendrite – No. 3
Description
‘When The Bough Breaks’ is a metaphor for surviving with damage.
Trees do not heal wounds the way other living organisms do, they seal them. Through a process called compartmentalization, a tree seals off damaged or diseased areas by forming walls around it, literally encasing it, allowing the tree to grow around it.
Many of us are living in this same way, compartmentalising our emotional fractures, living with invisible wounds or scars.
The silver has been oxidised, highlighted and brushed. Oxidisation is a surface treatment that can lighten with wear. All oxidised areas are given a coat of microcrystalline wax to help protect the darkened surface.
‘When The Bough Breaks’ hangs from a sterling silver chain finished with one of my handmade silver clasps.
Your necklace will arrive gift boxed – perfect for giving.
