Meet ‘Luna’, an exquisitely handmade silver pendant which captures the delicate and ethereal form of the Luna moth.
Meticulously crafted from hand-pierced layers of sterling silver, she sits on a silver circlet with an upturned crescent moon above her. In Paganism, an upturned crescent moon can represent the Moon Goddess, signifying a connection to the cycles of the moon and the feminine.
Luna’s intricate hand-engraved details capture the delicate texture of the moth’s wings and antennae.
She is set with a deep purple Amethyst and hangs from one of my sterling silver ‘Spirit’ chains which is finished with one of my handmade fixings.
The silver has been darkened, or oxidised, to emphasise the texture and details. Oxidisation is a surface treatment that will  lighten with wear. All oxidised areas are sealed with a layer of lacquer and waxed with a microcrystalline wax to help protect the oxidised surface.
As with all of my pieces, each and every jump ring is soldered closed to prevent any piece of the pendant coming apart or getting lost.
