A stunning pendant perfect for everyday wear.
This crescent moon pendant is handmade from deeply textured reticulated silver set against a highly polished, smooth silver border.
Reticulated silver is created by heating and cooling silver multiple times until the surface layer begins to move under heat, forming a unique undulating surface texture. This contrasts beautifully with the highly polished edge.
A smiling sun hangs in the centre of the crescent.
The pendant hangs from an 18″ paperclip style sterling silver chain which has been finished with one of my handmade clasps.
The silver has been oxidised and highlighted. Oxidisation is a surface treatment that can lighten with wear. I give all oxidised areas a coat of sealing lacquer and then microcrystalline wax to help protect the oxidised surface.
As with all of my pieces, each and every jump ring is soldered closed to prevent any piece of the pendant coming apart or getting lost.
