‘The Magnificent Octopus’ Sterling Silver Pendant

Description

Octopuses are truly magnificent creatures.
Blue blooded, with three hearts and a doughnut-shaped brain, and an ability to solve tasks and use tools which is well documented.
They are also able to recognise individuals outside of their own species and are one of the world’s most skilled camouflage artists.
Truly magnificent!

‘The Magnificent Octopus’ is my homage to these incredible creatures.
A stunning seascape constructed from multiple layers of sterling silver depicting a glorious Octopus on the sea bed.
The piece is detailed with two tiny clown fish and a starfish, as well as seaweed and sea anemones, with every element meticulously hand cut and soldered together.
‘The Magnificent Octopus’ hangs from a 20″ substantial sterling silver paperclip style chain finished with one of my handmade clasps.
The silver has been textured and oxidised to give the piece a darkened appearance. Oxidisation is a surface treatment that will lighten with wear. All oxidised areas are given a coat of lacquer, followed by microcrystalline wax to help protect the darkened surface.

Your pendant will arrive gift boxed – perfect for giving.
As with all of my pieces, each and every jump ring is soldered closed to prevent any piece of the necklace coming apart or getting lost.
