Gliding silently over the Hunter’s Moon, this stunning barn owl is a real statement piece.
No casting or element of mass production is involved in her creation. Each component is entirely hand fabricated from silver sheet and wire.
The Hunter’s Moon is the first full moon to follow the Harvest Moon and appears in October or November. It was so named by indigenous Americans as it was the full moon at the time of year when hunters began collecting and storing food for the long and cold winter months ahead.

Constructed from several layers of meticulously hand pierced and hand engraved sterling silver, this stunning owl soars over a reticulated  silver full moon. Reticulation is a process of heating and cooling sterling silver which results in a unique surface texture.
A gorgeous pear blue moonstone hangs from her talons and three hand made stars and crook hook fixing detail her chain.
The silver has been oxidised and highlighted. Oxidisation is a surface treatment that will  lighten with wear. All oxidised areas are lacquered and waxed with a microcrystalline wax to help protect the oxidised surface.
As with all of my pieces, each and every jump ring is soldered closed to prevent any piece of the pendant coming apart or getting lost.
