‘The White Hare’ is an absolutely eye-catching statement shadow box pendant. As with all of my work, this piece is handmade from quality sustainably sourced, recycled silver and gold.
A shadow box has recessed depth and the hare runs, framed in an arched silver ‘window’ set with gorgeous berry-red garnet gemstones and detailed with twisting vines and hand cut ivy leaf motifs.
Every element of this pendant has been meticulously hand cut and hand engraved.
The hare is constructed from two layers of meticulously hand pierced sterling silver and is full of hand engraved texture and detail.
She leaps in a winter country landscape of ploughed fields, hedges and wild plants, beneath a 9ct gold crescent moon.
Four gorgeous garnet cabochons, five garnet beads and twelve silver beads add a touch of winter and give a lovely movement to the piece.

In folklore, the white hare is often associated with winter and the moon, alongside red berries which symbolise winter’s bounty or fertility. In mythology, ivy is often associated with eternal life, fidelity, and protection, particularly against evil and negativity.

As with all of my pieces, each and every jump ring is soldered closed to prevent any piece of the necklace coming apart or getting lost.

The silver has been oxidised and highlighted. Oxidisation is a surface treatment that can lighten with wear. All oxidised areas are given a coat of sealing lacquer and microcrystalline wax to help protect the darkened surface.
‘The White Hare’ hangs from one of my substantial silver ‘Wicca’ chains, finished with one of my spiral hook handmade silver clasps. Measuring a total of 24″, this chain can be worn at 18″, 20″ 22″ or 24″ and has a drop of a garnet bead with two silver beads detailing the end.
This is a weighty statement piece which carries my maker’s mark and hallmark, and comes gift boxed, perfect for giving.
