‘One for sorrow, two for joy…’

This stunning and unique statement piece is entirely handmade from eco sterling silver.
Each Magpie takes hours to create from individual layers of meticulously hand cut silver and is then hand engraved.
They soar above an inverted sickle, moon which is set with three stunning Teal Moss Kyanite gemstones.
The sickle, or crescent moon is a powerful symbol of feminine empowerment, as well as signifying love and fertility. Also a symbol of new beginnings, hope, and optimism, crescent moons are often worn to bring luck and wealth. In some cultures, they are believed to be a protection against negativity and evil.
The silver has been oxidised, highlighted and brushed. It is then sealed with a microcrystalline wax to help protect the oxidised surface. Oxidisation is a surface treatment that can lighten with wear.
The piece hangs from a substantial 18″ sterling silver chain finished with one of my handmade clasps.
As with all of my pieces, every connection is soldered closed to prevent any piece of the necklace coming apart or getting lost.
