A gloriously shiny silver ring created using the traditional technique of sand casting.
This involves using special sand to create a negative space which can then be filled with molten silver.
To cast the two sapphires in place, they are positioned in the negative space so that the molten silver runs around them and holds them in the metal. This is a totally different aesthetic to settings like flush settings, and allows for a more organic and unique way to hold the stone. 
As is common in sand casting, there are some tiny ‘imperfections’ in the silver surface.
