Riding on the crest of the waves, this cute whale has been entirely handmade from sustainably sourced sterling silver.
His body is pierced with tiny moons and stars, each one carefully hand cut from layers of silver to create depth.
He swims on a handmade bangle with an unusual wave profile, delicately textured with a dappled surface.
The silver has been oxidised and highlighted.
Oxidisation is a surface treatment that will lighten with wear. I seal all oxidised pieces with a layer of sealing lacquer and microcrystalline wax to help protect the oxidised surface.
